Summary:
This book is a part of series called The Unknown Lands of Magneta. The story is set in a different universe surrounding the five planets around the star Magneta. This story is about the five planets:- Holo, Tusran, Cursia, Troy and Tabula and it’s inhabitants. This story has been told from three different perspective throughout the story.

First Perspective: This is told from the point of view of our protagonist, Amiel Sanders, a 16 year old boy who lives with her mother on the Planet of Troy. He was ever curious about his missing father and tries to find out the mystery of his father’s disappearance. His father, Derek Sanders was a former army prodigy and a national hero, who was taken away during the Holo Invasion eleven years ago.
Amiel meets Professor Brown, who supports his curiosity and helps him on his quest to search for his father and the mystery surrounding him.

Second Perspective : This is told from the point of view of a scientist named Doctor George Watkins, who left his wife and two children about 20 years ago to achieve a great discovery. He works with General Henry to achieve their dream of creating an equal society across the five planets of Magneta. Doctor Watkins and General Henry has devoted their lives on the research, which could fulfill their dream.

Third Perspective: This is told from the point of view of the monk, Narad, who travelling from planet to planet to seek the answer of his dilemma. To answer his dilemma, Lord Vishnu sent him to visit two planets: one with life and one without life, to help him find his answer.

Will Amiel find out the truth behind his father’s disappearance and regain his lost pride or will he be able to save his planet? While Doctor Watkins draws closer to his discovery, will he be able to achieve his dream? On the other hand, will Narad find the cure to his dilemma?

My Opinion: The story is full of potential. It grasps the reader’s mind and made them wonder about it. Since the story is told from various perspectives, one cannot anticipate what’s going to happen in the story. The author has worked with a great deal of creativity while writing this book and has vividly described the flora, fauna, season and life of people on different planets, which holds good for the story as well as the reader’s.
D G Bonnie has narrated the daily life struggles of a teenage boy, his friendship with Arlyn, his love for Ethel, his ever growing curiosity about his father and about his school life. A truly gripping story which will keep you in suspense throughout the story. This is the first fantasy/Sci-fi novel written by an Indian author that I have read and I totally recommend it…
